Minutes of the HOA meeting

Oct. 28, 2009

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:03pm by President Tom Schneider with a Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence.

 

Deputy Leroy Davis said crime is up; we should keep our doors locked at all times.   People with handicapped parking permits are being targeted as easy prey.

Do not hire someone to do work at our homes unless they have a license and insurance.  He also stated there are more scams out there than ever before and to be careful.   A question from the floor as to whether or not the police are aware of the partying going on in the woods behind Grand Camino Way?  He told us to call 911 and notify them when it happens again and tell the 911operator not to send a car to the home of the person who made the call.  He also announced that there was a death in the park that is being investigated.

 

Secretary   Joyce Kelly read the minutes from the general meeting held on September 30, 2009.  They were accepted as read.

Treasurer Gay Fazio gave the treasurer’s report.  It was accepted as read.

Membership  Darlene Coulling announced that we currently have 490 paid members.  We will start selling the 2009-2010 membership at the November 18th meeting.

Vice President Colleen Thibaut announced:

1.   The Video Library will now have additional hours on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30pm, except on 

      HOA meeting nights.

2.   Joyce Kelly volunteered to sell tickets for socials during the evening in the Lounge.  Call Joyce when

      you wish her to do so.

3.   All suggestions in the HOA suggestion box must be signed and made out by and HOA member.

4.   There are no commercial trailers allowed to park on the streets in our community..

5.   We have asked the park management to post a notice when streets are closed.

6.   She also notified park management that the street light still needs to be replaced on Grand Camino

      Way

7.   We still need a volunteer to fill the Activities Chair post.

Communications   Tony Wells announced that we still are getting requests for monetary donations from Salvation Army and Red Cross.  We received a  new request for a donation from Going on the Green in 35.

 

President  Tom announced that he and Vice President Colleen Thibaut have been meeting with other Spanish Lake HOA boards to address the lot rent increases.  He said the  Seniors Helping Soldiers donation program has been going well.  He has mailed 20 boxes so far to the soldiers.  Many have already been received.  A thank you to the Brown’s for the Halloween decorations they put up at the entrance.

 

Clubs   Anita Tadino from the Pilot Club announced that they raised $1000.00 from the Spaghetti dinner.

 

A question from the floor as to whether President Tom had an answer about block homes being built in place of a mobile home that is damaged beyond repair?   President Tom answered he is still looking into the matter.

 

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:31pm.
