HOA General Meeting

May 27, 2009=

The meeting was called to order at 7:01pm by President Tom Schneider with the Pledge of Allegiance and a momen= t of silence.

Deputy Leroy Davis gave a report o= f crime in the Lakewood Park area. Officer Davis told us that if we s= ee people doing something wrong in SLCCV, we should not take things into our o= wn hands but call 911 and report it.

Marilyn Carlson from the SLCC Board of Directors rep= orted that there has been quite a bit of mis-use of w= ater here. She gave suggestions on= how to conserve water. Plus a lis= t of things that should not be thrown down the toilet= as they are causing sewer problems. &nbs= p; Marilyn also said if we see someone watering their lawn during the n= ight we should report it to management. The water board from the park has alerted the Sheriff’s Department. A Sheriff’s unit is patrolling during the night to check on lawn watering. If you are caught, you will be fin= ed.

Officers Report<= /b>

Secretary     Secretary, Joyce Kelly read the minutes from the general meeting on April 29, 2009. They were accepted as read.

Treasurer     Treasurer, Gay Fazio gave the treasurer’s report. It was accepted as read.

Membership     Darlene Coulling reported that we have 453 p= aid members.

Activities     Linda Murphy announce= d there will be a Father’= s Day breakfast on Saturday June 20= th from 8:30-10:30am in the Auditorium. Tickets will be on sale June 8th and June 15th from 8:30-10:00am in = the card room. All members who are fathers will get one free ticket. All others will be $4.00 each.

Communications     None<= /span>

Vice President      Vice Presi= dent Colleen Thibaut announced that if we see undesi= rables in our development we are to let management know or call the Sheriff’s Department.

Committee Reports     President Tom Schneider announced that Circle of Friends is in need of volunteers. You can call Mary Madden at 461-04= 62 to volunteer.

Old Business     President Tom announced that the Enhancement Grant Program does not have funds again this year.

New Business     A question from = the floor from a new resident as to whether SLCCV has a hurricane evacu= ation plan. President Tom stated th= at Neighbor’s Helping Neighbor’s will be in charge of notifying us wh= en it is safe to return. A command = post will be set up at the Lon= gevity Center. =

President Tom handed out certificates of appreciatio= n to residents that volunteer their time at SLCCV

Our next general meeting will be Wednesday September 30, 2009.
