HOA General Meeting

March 25, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 7pm by President= Tom Schneider with the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence.=

St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Deputy Leroy Davis= gave a report of crime in the = Lakewood Park area. He stated that we continue to have= zero crime in Spanish Lakes Country Club Village. Deputy Davis said we should also consider setting up a neighborhood watch committee.

Officer’s Report

Secretary The minutes from the general meeting on February 25, 2009 were read by Joyce Ke= lly, they were accepted as read.

Treasurer Treasurer Gay Fazio gave the treasurer’s report. It was accepted as read.

Membership Darlene Coulling reported that we have 373 paid members.=

Activities Linda Murphy ann= ounced that there will be a Spring Fling Dance on April 18th from 7 till 10pm. Tic= kets will be on sale in the card room for $7.00 per person.

Communications    Tony Wells has a new pamphlet avail= able called the Senior Guide. He s= till has all the other brochures available that he told about last month.

Vice President     John Reiff reported that the only suggestion we received t= his month was to have a fundraiser/auction.&nb= sp; It was suggested that men be auctioned off that are willing to do wo= rk around SLCCV. John also noted= that this is his last meeting as Vice President. He is stepping down after six year= s. President Tom thanked him for his time and effort.

President Tom announced that we are not to put card= board boxes in or around the dumpster in the parking lot. We are to put cardboard out with t= he trash and recyclables.

COP program thanked the residents for donations this year. They will have a fundra= iser in May as we= ll as working at the NY Mets game on April 2nd. They are still in need of drivers.= Also reported that when their reco= rds were audited they were found to be properly maintained. President Tom Thanked Russ for all his work with COP as he is retiri= ng this year.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors announced that they hav= e the new forms for anyone that did not do one previously. The new Hospice program coordinato= r was introduced and gave an overview of hospice.

HOA audit committee reported that from April 2008 through March 2009 we were well administrated.

Old Business     none<= /span>

New Business     Nate Foote expressed his concerns about the Wynn Corporation taking over so many homes and therefore our property values going down. He also stated that there are conc= erns about undesirables moving in here. It was discussed that we should get a committee together and meet with other Spanish Lakes HOA clubs to = band together to approach Wynn with our concerns. It was also stated that we do a pe= tition for capping lot rents. Presid= ent Tom Schneider will work on this over the summer. Next fall we can have a meeting wi= th the Wynn’s to express all our concerns.

A question from the floor as to when the steam room= will be open again ?=

President Tom introduced and welcomed our new Vice President Colleen Thibaut.

There being no further new business a motion was ma= de to adjourn the meeting at 7:40pm.
