The meeting was called to order at 7PM by President=
Tom
Schneider with the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence.
Deputy Gary Gonzales from the St. Lucie county
sheriff’s office told us that there is zero crime in

He states that cyclists should ride in the direction of the traffic =

pedestrians should walk opposite to the traffic. He recommends wearing safety light=

we are walking or cycling.
There was a question from the floor:
If someone is notified of a potentially dangerous
situation and they do not correct that situation are they then responsible =
if
something should happen?
He said that he is not an attorney but the first st=
ep
would be to notify the owner about the situation.
Officer’s Report
Secretary – The minutes from the general meet=
ing of
January 28, 2009 were read by secretary Genny Smith and were accepted as re=
ad.
Treasurer – The treasurer’s report was =
read
by Treasurer Gay Fazio and was accepted as read.
Membership – Darlene Coulling reported that, =
as of
tonight, there are 336 paid members.
There will be a New Owner meeting on March 1 at 2PM in the
auditorium. You are welcome to
bring anyone who is interested in buying here in our village. Darlene thanked all club and sport
representatives who will be speaking at the meeting. There will be refreshments served.=
Communications – Tony Wells read a letter from
Jerry Purcell of the SLCCV Fitness Games thanking the HOA for their
contribution to the games.
He also reminded us about the brochures of resources
available to us.
He also mentioned the name of someone living in the
village that is available to inspect and repair home tie-downs.
Activities – Linda Murphy thanked Rich Murphy=
for
doing a great job at our Valentine’s Day dance. There will be a St. Patrick’=
s Day
dance. Tickets will be $7.
Vice President – John Reiff reported on compl=
aints
and suggestions received:

east gate to the homeowner’s pool needs repair. John spoke with Craig who will see=
to
the repairs.

have been complaints about the lack of use of the golf course and the barri=
ng
of visitors and renters from using it.&nbs=
p;
John states that this has been an ongoing issue and Joel Wynn contin=
ues
to oppose any changes. He will
follow up on this.

complaints have been received about the Sunday watering schedule being
inconvenient because it cuts into Sunday worship time. John spoke with management who fee=

the current water schedule will be knocked down to one day a week due to the
current drought situation. Jo=

will continue to seek changes to the schedule even if the days are cut
down.
John also noted that the water will be turned off t=
onight
from 10PM to 5 or 6AM for maintenance.&nbs=
p;
There will be a “boil water” alert for 72 hours afterwar=
ds.
President – Tom Schneider announced that Gay =

will be remaining in her current office of treasurer for the next two years=
.

Clubs – Pat Gordon announced that The Country=
Club
Player will be performing their annual variety show “Bag Full of Funs=
A Poppin” on Saturday 3/21 at 7PM and Sunday 3/2=
2 at
2PM here in the auditorium. T=
icket
will be on sale.
No Old Business
New Business – Pat Gordon states that he has =
been
in a wheelchair for the past two months and found that the Arts & Crafts
room is not wheelchair accessible without help due to a high step up. John Reiff will follow up this tom=
orrow
morning and have all the accesses in the club house reviewed to make sure t=
hat
they meet with the Disability Act.
Ed Littman spoke of the abuse of parking and drivin=
g on
grass. With the current dry
conditions our grass is dieing.
There are also large vehicles parked where they should not be
parked. Tom will follow up on=
this.
Mario said that pedestrians are walking two abreast=
. He said that this is very
dangerous. Tom said that he h=
as
seen people walking at night and early morning in dark clothing and not usi=
ng
flashlights. This is very
dangerous. There are safety l=
ights
being sold, at cost, in the back of the auditorium.
One member stated that she has seen children drivin=
g and
racing golf carts. She report=

that grandparents should not let their grandchildren drive their golf carts=

John also cautioned us that the police have been
ticketing motorist for speeding in the construction area on US 1 in
